A key senior level vacancy for a Publisher has arisen with a leading educational publisher in central London.  Reporting to the MD and responsible for developing strategic publishing plans for print and digital resources for schools and the consumer market, this is an excellent opportunity to lead a successful and dedicated team.

 

Key duties:

  • Plan, implement and promote a market-focussed and commercially successful publishing strategy
  • Monitor performance of the list and responsible for delivering budget revenues and profitability
  • Manage and develop the publishing teams across UK schools, home-learning, revision and international editorial
  • Work with marketing and sales to decide formats and pricing structures
  • Enhance the author pool and ensure the highest level of author care
  • Develop and maintain networks and relationships within the education policy and publishing community

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive experience in primary and secondary educational publishing
  • An in-depth knowledge of the UK schools market is essential and experience of international markets would be advantageous
  • Strong people management and team leadership experience
  • A commercial approach and experience of managing P&L
  • Market oriented with a track record of proactively publishing in a changing market
  • Self-motivated with the ability to innovate and think creatively
