Foreign Rights Executive

A successful academic books and journals publisher has an exciting new opportunity for a Foreign Rights Executive to join their team. This role is based in West Yorkshire.

Key duties:

• Negotiate contracts and secure rights sales across a diverse academic book catalogue
• Meet and exceed sales targets as set to increase overall revenue
• Be responsible for administrative duties including tracking orders, providing quotations and negotiating prices
• Offer feedback and insight on customer preferences, retail trends and the broader market
• Create regular forecasts and reports to inform the trading review
• Occasional UK and international travel to key book fairs as required

Experience / skills required:

• Experience of rights sales in book publishing would be advantageous
• Excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to negotiate with key stakeholders
• A results oriented approach and a proven enthusiasm for sales
• Excellent relationship building skills and a strong understanding of customer needs
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work well in a team
• Fluency in another language would be highly desirable
