Publicity & Marketing Executive (Adult Trade)

The opportunity

Bloomsbury Publishing is looking for a highly skilled Publicity and Marketing Executive to work across our award winning fiction list within the Adult Trade Marketing and Publicity department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and ambitious individual to create campaigns across the list. The candidate must have experience of devising and carrying out both publicity and marketing campaigns, building relationships with the press, literary festivals and bookshops, liaising with external media agencies and designers, running social media campaigns, communicating across departments and directly with the author. The role reports into the Senior Publicity Manager of the Fiction team. Our wide-ranging and award-winning fiction list includes literary giants like Margaret Atwood, William Boyd and Ann Patchett as well as the younger, best-selling voices of Samantha Shannon and Kate Tempest.

 

The role

  • Deliver creative, innovative and integrated marketing and/or publicity campaigns to maximize book sales and grow author brand awareness
  • Deliver all campaigns and initiatives within agreed timelines and to budget
  • Effectively communicate marketing and publicity campaigns to all key stakeholders both internal and external
  • Regularly communicate with Bloomsbury’s global offices
  • Stay informed about new marketing insights, developments and opportunities
  • Management of elements of Bloomsbury’s social media channels and brand websites including working with the Head of Social Media on innovative strategy and content creation
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the UK media, literary festivals and events and bookshops
  • Deliver exceptional author care throughout the life of a campaign and beyond

 

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Marketing and/or Publicity professional with 2 plus years’ experience desired
  • Experience of building and managing marketing and/or publicity campaigns
  • Experience of working in trade publishing
  • Keen interest in social media
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly creative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills, internally and externally
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills

 

This role is based at Bloomsbury’s London office, 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP.
