Managing Editor

Full-time or 4-days per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and collaborative Managing Editor to join our fiction editorial team.

The position will have responsibility for managing schedules, processes and progress on fiction titles, liaising with the editors, designers, Fiction Publishing Director and other internal teams to ensure books are delivered on time and to the highest standard. You will manage freelancers and the freelance budget and support the Publishing Director in collating costs for the budgeting process. You will copy edit manuscripts, proofread and collate proofs where required, read and assess submissions and contribute to editorial meetings, with the potential to acquire as the role develops.

If you are passionate about books and have a knowledge of book publishing editorial processes, sharp attention to detail and a creative eye, with great communication skills and the ability to see the bigger picture, then we would love to hear from you. Experience in using Biblio, and knowledge of the children’s book market would be helpful, but not essential.

The role is based in our offices near Latimer Road/Shepherd’s Bush tube stations in West London
