Publishing Team – Editor/ Designer

IglooBooks, a division of Bonnier Publishing Ltd, is recruiting! With 170 employees all dedicated to three core principles – quality, value and outstanding service – there is no other mass-market publisher that delivers as consistently as IglooBooks.  As a result of continued growth and success, IglooBooks are expanding the publishing team.

We’re looking for ambitious, creative individuals looking to join a truly energetic, vibrant and established publishing company with vast, but achievable, growth plans. This really is a very exciting time to join IglooBooks. We need new talent eager to hit the ground running and support our long term company objectives.

The specific vacancies we are recruiting include;

Designer (Childrens Books)

You will compose art briefs, design layouts and create book covers across a variety of formats. You’ll work in partnership with an editor and help to project manage a range of books from concept to approval, then to final print-ready files, in line with set schedules and briefs. You will also manage third-party contributors, including illustrators and freelancers, ensuring that high-quality work is produced all of the time and on time.

Designer (US Team)

You will manage and design multiple projects to schedule and to the quality expected, working alongside the US Team and editorial partners to initially Americanise existing product, before progressing to creating bespoke titles for the American market.

For both of the above, you should have a minimum of two/three years’ book publishing experience and a creative eye that will add to our spectacular design team. You’ll need to be a team player and have a positive attitude with great project management skills. A high level of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop skills are an absolute must.

Editor (US Team)

Editors will be responsible for a wide range of US titles. You will manage and edit multiple projects to schedule and to the quality expected, working alongside the US Team to initially Americanise existing product, before progressing to creating bespoke titles for the American market.

You should have a creative, methodical eye and excellent attention to detail. A solid editorial background (2 years+), ideally working in book publishing where you’ve developed a high standard of proofreading, copywriting, copy-editing and fact-checking skills. Again, you need to be a good team player with strong project management skills and a positive, “can do” attitude. Excellent communication skills and a high standard of verbal/written US English is, of course, essential for this position.

Of course, on top of all of the above, you’ll need to share our passion and love for books!

You’ll help us make great-quality children’s books that are sold through major multiples and independent book stores all over the world!

All of the vacancies above are permanent, full-time contracts. The successful applicants will benefit from 25 days’ holiday per annum, excellent benefits and a competitive, negotiable salary, dependant on experience.

We have vacancies available in Chelsea, London and Sywell, Northants. We are accepting applications in both locations.

Please apply in writing with a full CV, covering letter and current salary details to Jodie Groves (Jodie.groves@bonnierpublishing.co.uk). Early applicants will be prioritised.

Please apply direct.  The apply button will only take you to the company website.  Thanks.
