Head of Sales - RCNi

Morgan Healey Retained Assignment. 

RCNi is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal College of Nursing, the world's largest organisation for nurses. Due to continued growth and a restructure of their sales department, RCNi now requires a Head of Sales.

Overall Aims:

  • To lead, manage and engage sales teams to develop and grow revenues for advertising, sponsorship, and institutional global sales.
  • To accurately develop and forecast sales department budgets (costs and revenues).
  • Establish account management and development focus across the sales team, and maintain an understanding of competitor and market activity to inform RCNi initiatives and value propositions.
  • Negotiate contracts, develop proposals, and respond to tenders, utilising business and pricing models that deliver a profitable return for the business.
  • Inform sales strategy and plans through effective use of data and analytics to track performance, drive velocity of the sales pipeline and accurately report on sales performance to the wider business.
  • Develop proposals and business cases to inform the development of new products, services and solutions to meet customer needs.
  • To work effectively with marketing, customer service, product development and RCN commercial teams to grow RCNi UK and international revenues.
  • Professionally represent RCNi at customer and stakeholder meetings.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • 10 yrs experience of advertising, sponsorship and institutional revenue management within a publishing environment
  • Leadership and management of teams of staff, managing budgets achieving sales targets.
  • Experience of account development and management for digital and print products and services
  • Knowledge publishing business models and licensing, and able to demonstrate experience of developing alternative revenue streams to achieve financial targets
  • Track record of using data and analytics to strategically drive sales and manage sales performance.
  • Experience of development and management of commission schemes
  • Experience of UK and international market development and growth

Desirable

  • Experience of Salesforce
  • Experience of managing inside sales and customer success teams to drive traffic for conversion into revenue
  • UK and International network of contacts
