Sales Executive

Oberon Books, the UK’s leading drama and performing arts publisher, is looking for a highly motivated Sales Executive to join its busy Sales & Marketing Team.

The ideal candidate will already have experience in a publishing sales environment, be dynamic  and  an excellent communicator. You will be responsible for sales to a range of house accounts, including specialist theatre bookshops, online outlets, theatres and producers, and foreign distributors, and will work closely with our UK and foreign external sales teams.  In addition to hands-on sales duties, you should be able to turn your hand to a variety of tasks, including sales reporting, liaising with our UK distributor and working with marketing colleagues to ensure the success of our many events and book signings.

 

KEY DUTIES

  • Meet or exceed individual sales targets
  • Manage in-house accounts, including new title presentations and regular stock checking
  • Identify new sales opportunities, both in the trade and via direct sales
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the management of reprints, POD sales and e-book sales
  • Sales reporting  and analysis

Skills Required: 

  • A very good working knowledge of Excel is essential, as is the ability to quickly learn our distributor’s reporting systems
  • Enthusiasm for theatre and performing arts is highly desirable

Experience Desired:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a publishing sales environment
  • Knowledge of key trade customers for performing arts books
