Key Account Executive, UK Sales

Pan Macmillan UK is one of the largest general book publishers in the UK, with imprints including Macmillan, Mantle, Pan, Picador, Bluebird, Bello, Macmillan Children's Books and Macmillan Digital Audio. Pan Macmillan is part of the worldwide Macmillan Publishing Group.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Supermarkets & Specials sales team and a perfect step up for an ambitious Sales Administrator. You will be working within a busy supermarkets team comprising 4 Sales Managers and a Sales Administrator.

You will have a range of responsibilities including managing one supermarket account as well as a number of specials accounts. We work across all of our lists covering both adults and children’s sales for each account.

You will ideally have experience in sales administration and publishing/bookselling, and have a passion for reading.

The key tasks of the role will include but are not limited to the following:

• To manage all areas of your accounts including presenting, negotiating slots and spend, submission grids, sales materials and meetings
• To fully understand what motivates your account and their own issues and strategies; to be the champion for your accounts within the business
• To demonstrate a wide range of knowledge across our lists
• The ability to work under pressure and manage challenging conversations

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2 years’ experience of  UK books market
• Evidence of team work and hitting deadlines
• Evidence of strong Excel and organizational skills
