Campaigns Manager, Penguin General

Can you create stand-out campaigns to capture our readers' attention?

At Penguin General we publish excellent books that can be picked up and enjoyed by everyone. Our many readers, like our authors, stretch around the globe, and what unites both is an intelligent curiosity about the world around us, as well as a love of great storytelling. Our wide range of authors include John le Carré, Zadie Smith, Ben Macintyre, Meera Sodha, Cara Hunter and Jane Corry.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Campaigns Manager to join our communications team working across five imprints: Hamish Hamilton, Viking, Fig Tree, Penguin Ireland and Penguin paperbacks. Working in a merged Communications team, you will be running your own 360° campaigns which link up publicity, digital, social and marketing activity to best bring our books to the attention of consumers.

You will need an extensive network of media contacts, impressive experience working with high profile individuals, and superb communication skills. You will work closely with authors and agents, as well as colleagues in editorial, marketing and sales, so we are looking for a real team player who can remain calm under pressure.

Working across a range of print, digital, broadcast and radio, you will have a track record of successful, creative campaigns and a thorough knowledge of integrated PR for both fiction and non-fiction publishing. The ideal candidate will also have experience organising and managing events and book tours.

We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated their ability to obtain high profile media coverage that helps drive sales and to strategically target publicity towards an identified readership.

If this sounds like you, please apply with your CV and cover letter no later than 8th July.
