Pan Macmillan UK is one of the largest general book publishers in the UK, with imprints including Macmillan, Mantle, Pan, Picador, Boxtree, Sidgwick & Jackson, Bluebird, Bello, Tor, Kingfisher, Macmillan Children's Books, Campbell Books, Macmillan New Writing and Macmillan Digital Audio.
Pan Macmillan is looking for a confident, skilled, self-motivated and highly-organized editorial assistant for its exciting new healthy lifestyle imprint, Bluebird. If you want to work on a dynamic and growing list that already includes authors ranging from Instagram sensation Joe Wicks to Pope Francis, this is the role for you.
The position will involve -
- Administrative support of the Bluebird Publisher and Editor (responsibility for costings, invoices, metadata maintenance)
- Assisting editors with simple editorial tasks - second reads of cover copy, engaging freelancers, chasing usage permissions, proof mail outs
- Writing and circulating minutes for editorial and other imprint specific meetings
- Working closely with the communications team in the production of catalogue and prize submission material
- A strong understanding of the growing health and well-being market, and a personal interest in the subject areas that Bluebird publishes
This is a key role within our organization and as such we are looking for someone who has at least one year of experience at a literary agency or publishing company. You must be highly organized, computer literate, be good at prioritizing work under pressure and have excellent English language skills.
This role is based in our London office.
