Press Officer

Phaidon is the premier global publisher of the creative arts with over 1,500 titles in print.  We work with the world's most influential artists, chefs, writers and thinkers to produce innovative books on art, photography, design, architecture, fashion, food and travel, and illustrated books for children. 

Reporting to the Head of Press, we are seeking a Press Officer to work on dynamic press campaigns for our titles. The ideal candidate will have a network of media contacts, be a proactive, creative and organised with exceptional communication skills both written and verbal who can work independently and as part of a team.

Responsible for developing and implementing innovative publicity campaigns across a wide range of disciplines both in the UK and internationally. Your campaigns will be creative, considered, intelligent and impactful, incorporating both traditional and online media as well as events.

Based in the London office, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous publicity experience and has a passion for the subjects that Phaidon publish.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing publicity campaigns independently as well as working with a wider campaigns team
  • Liaising with key internal stakeholders to ensure that they are kept up to date with PR plans, activity and coverage
  • Building relationships directly with authors
  • Attending regular journalist meetings and growing your network of contacts
  • Working with wider marketing and sales teams (such as reps, marketing, social media and website) to ensure press campaigns are integrated with them and deliver the objectives set
  • Working with the Head of Press to ensure campaigns and the work of the department are shared within the company
  • Working closely with colleagues in the US and our European offices, sharing campaign ideas and strategies as well as problem solving
