Associate Foreign Rights Director

Quarto Foreign Rights is looking for an Associate Foreign Rights Director for its London-based children’s team.

A proactive, positive and commercial sales leader, you will, under the direction of the Foreign Rights Director, set budgets and tactical plans for a number of the Quarto Children’s imprints (QED, Marshall Children’s Books, Small World Creations, Walter Foster Junior, MoonDance Press and Seagrass Press) and drive a foreign rights team to meet and exceed those budgets. You will work in close collaboration with Quarto Publishers in the UK and the USA, providing analysis of territorial trends that contributes to an expanding and successful international publishing programme.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and entrepreneurial deal-maker, who has outstanding leadership and negotiation skills, experience of children’s illustrated books, in particular non-fiction, educational or pre-school novelty, and the commercial expertise to implement a global co-edition sales plan for a diverse range of books and markets. You speak English fluently plus at least one additional language and have built strong commercial relationships with children’s publishers in your previous roles. This position could be the next challenge for a senior Rights Manager with significant experience.
