Foreign Rights Manager, Maternity cover

The Quarto Group is the leading global illustrated book publisher and distribution group.

Quarto Foreign Rights Children’s is seeking a foreign rights professional to cover a maternity leave from 1st August 2016 to cover Southern European markets. You will be responsible for reaching and exceeding sales targets across a number of lists and territories by increasing business with existing customers as well as actively expanding the client base.  You will travel up to 10 weeks a year to your territories and have the ability to provide and share useful customer feedback and market feedback on trends that Quarto can publish into.

A determined, positive and commercial sales person, you will have foreign rights/international sales experience in selling children’s books, in particular novelty books, non-fiction and picture books and have outstanding communication, sales and negotiating skills.  You will know how to build and maintain superb customer relationships and have the commercial awareness to identify sales opportunities and close deals.

You will need to be highly organised and be able to collaborate effectively with internal colleagues to ensure that co-editions are contracted, delivered and paid-for according to agreed terms and conditions.

Fluent Spanish is essential and either Italian or Portuguese will be an advantage.
