Marketing Manager- home working

Does the thought of attracting new authors for high quality books appeal to your professional marketing experience? Would you like the challenge of attracting quality authorship for a global and highly successful academic publisher?  Due to continued growth and investment in their books programme, we have a unique marketing role within the busy, friendly marketing team, as a Books Author Marketing Manager. This role can be based at either their modern offices in Yorkshire or based from home.

The Books Author Marketing Manager will work closely with the Head of Books, Head of Books Marketing and Head of Author Engagement to develop and execute the books input marketing plans; supporting the books commissioning programme with author acquisition.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and promoting the company’s brand  
  • Constructing messaging and value propositions for book titles and collections for prospects and exiting customers
  • Analyzing author segments appropriateness for books commissioning
  • Developing compelling and engaging content to target authors for books commissioning; promoting author services, developing PR and social media campaigns
  • Devising lead generation plans to attract and retain potential authors
  • Working closely with Marketing, undertake marketing attribution analysis, identifying the most successful lead generation activities
  • Developing author advocacy and engagement programmes
  • Manage relevant areas of the marketing budget
  • Build and maintain key relationships
  • Occasional international travel

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong marketing experience
  • Demonstrable marketing background in academic or educational books marketing
  • Self-motivated, and able to work on own initiative
  • Lateral thinker and problem solver
  • Results orientated
  • Ability to work under pressure calmly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to continually developing the role
  • Flexible and creative
