Due to Simon & Schuster’s increasing success, our list is ever-expanding in size and range, and we are looking for a Designer to join our friendly in-house Adult Art team.

 

Job Profile:

Our fast paced team seek a Designer who is highly talented and versatile.  The role will take ownership of the design process from start to finish creating the highest quality design work within agreed briefs, budgets and schedules.

The job offers a great opportunity to work across different genres – from crime and thrillers, women’s fiction and literary, to biography, current affairs, history and sport.

 

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Designer to become a key member of the Art team as well as a member of our high calibre Adult Editorial Division, taking the our print and digital jackets to the next level.

 

This role will suit an established and proactive Designer with keen ambition to develop an author’s jackets, to take ownership of our major brands, with the credibility to challenge trends and whose contribution can ensure Simon & Schuster UK become market leaders in both the print and digital design arena.

 

Candidate Profile:  

You will be central to the growth of the Division.  Your creative instincts and design skills to produce jackets of bestsellers will mean that you are already a recognised presence within publishing.

A strong awareness of current trends is essential as well as excellent design skills and creativity and innovation. Good communication skills are a must as the role involves working directly with the editorial and sales teams, commissioning illustrators, photographers and freelance designers.
