Acquisitions Editor

Are you an experienced editor with great commissioning skills and experience of working in illustrated non-fiction licensed publishing, with a demonstrable interest in modern and classic pop culture?

 

Titan Books is looking for a proactive and commercially astute Acquisitions Editor to join their busy team.

 

Reporting in to the Editorial Director, you will play a key part in the planning, development and implementation of the publishing strategy. Key responsibilities will include; identifying global market opportunities for new products and licenses, attending relevant industry events and trade shows, preparing a strategic plans and pitches for assigned areas and acquiring and developing titles to implement the plan, identifying, commissioning and working closely with licensors, negotiating contracts, preparing and presenting new publishing proposals for consideration and coordinating effectively with other departments to ensure titles are publishing according to schedule and budget.

 

The successful candidate will have substantial experience within trade illustrated non-fiction book publishing, experiencing in licensing is essential. You should have a solid understanding and experience of the commissioning and editorial process with great project management and negotiation skills. You will have first class communication, numeracy and organisational skills with the ability to coordinate and work collaboratively and effectively with others to publish unique and innovative products.
