Print Production Coordinator

Here Design are looking to recruit an experienced Print Production Coordinator to join their multidisciplinary team in East London.

A deliberately non-specialist studio, Here Design work on a diverse range of projects across a wide range of disciplines. This is a new role and the right candidate must have an excellent understanding of print processes, good commercial acumen and the ability to multi-task and prioritise in a busy and fast paced environment.

The Production Assistant will work within a collaborative environment amongst a friendly team of creatives. Reporting to the Production Director they will be the main contact point between the Design team and our network of print suppliers to ensure all the Studio’s printed work is produced on budget, on deadline and to a consistently high standard.

Responsibilities include:
• To work closely with the Production Director & Design team
• To ensure all print jobs are documented internally
• To liaise directly with suppliers to gain the most competitive quotes for each and every print job
• To keep the designers, Project Managers and Production Director regularly updated on the
status of live and speculative jobs
• Attending press passes, alone or with clients, to give the final artwork sign off
• To ensure all of the Studio’s printed collateral is produced to a consistently high standard
• To build upon and maintain the Studio’s network of suppliers
• Educate and inform the wider studio team on any relevant industry news
• To ensure all of the Studio’s printed collateral is produced to a consistently high standard

Experience:
• Excellent understanding of print production
• Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Experience of working in a print environment would be advantageous
• Previous experience of attending press passes
• Knowledgeable on the capabilities & limitations of print, and the ability to suggest alternative
methods to Designers/Project Managers so the desired outcome can still be achieved
• Able to speak technically & professionally with printers
• Strong communication skills, internally and externally with the ability to clearly articulate any
technical questions from suppliers to the Project Managers and design team
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a can-do approach
• Mac proficient with Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop knowledge
• Able to handle a fast paced & ever-changing studio environment
• Able to prioritise workload independently & also within the Production team as a whole
• 3D visualisation would be an advantage.
