Alliance Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading international information and technology provider as their Alliance Manager. As a key partner for content holders of all types and boasting a portfolio of assets including content, technologies and expertise, our client’s content collection allows for research on almost all topics, from various perspectives and across numerous formats. 

The Alliance Manager works to secure targeted and profitable Content Licensing Agreements with primary publishers, whilst building and managing long term, profitable relationships. The key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Negotiating and delivering Agreements through highly effective written, telephone and face to face communications.
  • Developing strategic and tactical plans for effectively recruiting a portfolio of around 40 Key Accounts to meet product deliverables.
  • Developing relationships with new content providers, publishers and partners in the information industry to secure content agreements, whilst managing relationships with existing Content Partners.
  • Negotiating and developing commercially favourable customised License Agreements whilst also accommodating the content providers' needs.
  • Consulting with the Product Management Team to stay abreast of business needs, understand and work within constraints, and optimise the target content mix to ensure the most effective market reception of the product.
  • Prepare reports for senior management to summarise market conditions, analyse problems and propose solutions.
  • Monitor the information industry to maintain an expert understanding of the industry players, their strengths, strategies, market orientation and direction.
  • Travel for responsibilities associated with the role approximately 20% of the year.

To be considered for this role you must be fluent in English and Spanish with a successful track record of developing face to face presentations, business proposals and closing high level agreements. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, team player, with high levels of personal initiative and strong goal orientation and analytical abilities. Experience in the publishing/information industry within business development, licencing negotiations, editorial or sales and marketing would be advantageous but is not essential.
