Applications Specialist

We have an interesting opportunity for an Application Specialist to work for a leading , global provider of publishing systems. Based in Gloucestershire, this role can be home-based but will necessitate travel to customers for demonstrations and customer meetings.

The role of the Applications Specialist will demonstrate, install and support the software products our client has developed for the publishing industry.  The software encompasses  the entire digital process, including editorial, advertising, CRM and Web applications.  You will develop product knowledge and apply this knowledge to customer production requirements, to achieve optimum operating solutions to meet the needs of each customer business.

The Applications Specialist can be based from home and the successful person  will be educated to degree level or equivalent in computing and/or publishing technologies, or someone who can demonstrate relevant work experience. You should be able to demonstrate, install, train and support application software for print and digital publishing systems, and have a knowledge of operating systems, as well as a knowledge of the print industry, including new media e.g. Web CMS.  You will also have knowledge of the following: XML, XSLT, VB.net, llS, Javascript, HTML5, SQL Windows, CSS, Web CMS.  You need to be willing to travel to customer sites for demonstrations and meetings, and spend time with customers installing and training.  You will require a clean driving licence for this role.
