Rights Manager

The opportunity

Bloomsbury publishes an exciting list of acclaimed literary fiction and general non-fiction covering subjects such as biography, current affairs and popular science, as well as children’s books and a wide range of award winning illustrated titles in the areas of food and drink, sports and fitness, nautical and natural history.  We are looking for a Rights Manager to sell co-editions & translation rights including Audio and other domestic rights, covering the Adult and Special Interest lists.  The Rights Manager will play an important role in the rights team and the company.  This would suit a Rights Executive with good experience of selling or a Rights Manager looking for a new challenge.

The role

  • Sell co-edition and translation rights to an agreed strategy
  • Sell audio and other domestic rights
  • Initiate and develop business relationships with new and existing customers to retain and grow business 
  • Liaise with colleagues in editorial, marketing and publicity departments
  • Draw up contracts and liaise with finance 
  • Attend Book Fairs and Sales trips as required

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Co-editions and rights experience working in a similar role 
  • Confidence in communicating and negotiating
  • Team player
  • Excellent organisational skills

Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position.

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP however, as all Bloomsbury employees are currently working from home, this role will also be based from home until our offices reopen on a mandatory working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
