Royalties Assistant – Digital, Finance (6 month fixed term contract)

The opportunity

The Bloomsbury Royalties Department is responsible for preparing royalty statements and making advance and royalty payments to Bloomsbury’s authors around the world.

The role

Bloomsbury has been steadily growing the sales and marketing of digital editions of titles within its non-consumer portfolio.  The Royalties Assistant role is a temporary role created to assist with cleansing and updating the records we hold in the royalty system related to digital editions, by referring to author contracts. The role will report directly into the Royalties Manager.

Whilst prior publishing royalties experience would be desirable, this role might equally suit a numerate graduate who is keen to get some publishing experience, has good attention to detail and who can learn about royalties quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Extracting and recording royalties information from author contracts
  • Preparation of data for loading to royalty system
  • Ad-hoc tasks as and when required

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Strong excel skills – pivots, v-look-ups, etc.
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Numeracy, speed and attention to detail
  • Royalties experience – ideally in trade/academic publishing

Additional information

The role is a full-time temporary (6 month fixed term) position.

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP however, as all Bloomsbury employees are currently working from home, this role will also be based from home until our offices reopen on a mandatory working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
