Brand Strategy Director - Children's Publishing FTC

This is a superb opportunity for an experienced senior level brand marketing professional with demonstrable experience within the children’s publishing/media arena? We are looking for a Brand Strategy Director to join a popular brand, working on their award-winning children’s titles, initially on 9 month fixed term maternity contract.

This is a wonderful opportunity to lead and take ownership of the children’s brand strategy and work closely with Marketing and PR teams to deliver first-rate results across the overall publishing portfolio, for current and future brands. Working as part of the Children’s core leadership team you will build and grow the business, deliver brand expertise, including participating in strategic discussions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering the Global Brand strategy for the assigned portfolio of leading children’s lists and special products;
  • Be the global face and driver for the UK Children’s brands; Facilitating and coordinating all branding approvals, maintaining overall brand identity
  • Work with PR and Marketing teams on fiscal and strategic objectives to achieve best results
  • Create long term growth strategy plans for key children’s brands
  • Commercial tracking and analysis of brands and using the information to inform brand strategy
  • Building strong work relationships with key stakeholders, brand owners and internal teams
  • Lead and manage the Brand Team

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced brand marketer who has worked at senior level in children’s publishing /media, looking to bring their expertise to this household name.

The successful person will have:

  • Significant demonstrable experience working at Director level within children’s publishing or media related industry
  • Line management experience; with the ability to set objectives, give clear direction and manage fairly and effectively
  • Strategic thinking; planning and anticipating future trends and opportunities
  • Business acumen; knowledgable about future policies, practices and technologies that will affect the business
  • Commercially aware with a clear understanding of the market
  • Customer focused; dedicated to meeting customer expectations
  • Track record and ability to meet and exceed targets and goals
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and reasoning skills
  • Strong multi-tasking, organisational and time management skills
