Business Development Director

Exciting and one-off opportunity for a hungry Business Development Director in a leading international learning company based in London. You will be responsible for the development and execution of the global sales strategy for the Language Testing Division.  This is a senior appointment and you will be part of a small and dynamic leadership team seeking to unseat entrenched competitors.

 

Key duties:

  • Accountability for overall sales strategy for all testing products within the Language Testing portfolio, delivering revenue targets
  • Identify and progress commercial relationships with global and local partner organisations in order to meet agreed sales and partnership targets
  • Responsibility for providing sales strategy guidance to colleagues internationally plus direct line management of small team
  • Working with the global territories to establish and deliver annual sales targets by product
  • Coordinating the budget setting process across territories with overall responsibility for Language Testing global sales targets
  • Working as part of a leadership team to develop and execute commercial strategy for the Language Testing portfolio

Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive experience within sales for international education (publishing or assessment) / student recruitment / pathway providers for international students / admissions for universities
  • Sound knowledge of the international student recruitment segment and the role of English language testing
  • Demonstrable success in business development in an international context
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive leader with track record of sales and BD plus management of a team to achieve results
  • Commercial awareness and skills in budgeting, financial management, data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills; clear, structured decision-making
  • Ability to build relationships and influence within a global matrix structure and changing environment
  • Strategic thinking; able to simplify complex challenges and drive improvement / progress
  • Excellent communication skills along with strong cultural awareness plus positive and enthusiastic attitude
