Leading education company seeks an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to drive the ongoing success of their globally established digital publishing programme within higher education in the East and South East of England.

Excellent opportunity to join a vibrant global education solutions provider as a Business Development Manager. This role suits a performance driven individual with leadership qualities and a flexible approach to achieving and exceeding targets, developing sales and promoting growth.

The Business Development Manager will be expected to:

  • Execute sales strategy to maximise sales of digital products directly into academic institutions within a territory.
  • Exceed annual revenue goals.
  • Identify and engage with a network of high value contacts in every assigned account.
  • Use CRM to inform sales planning, territory prioritisation and forecasting.
  • Deliver powerful sales presentations, communicate effectively and with gravitas to senior stakeholders in universities.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of ‘institutional purchase’ opportunities that follow clearly defined strategies for accounts.
  • Deliver accurate and timely sales proposals and lead effective negotiations.
  • Work effectively with team members to qualify and articulate complex solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills internally and externally.

The required experience and skills for this role are:

  • Proven record of achieving results and meeting targets.
  • Ability to research and identify new business opportunities.
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • A willingness to develop and adapt.
  • A minimum of 3 successful years in sales, in a business to business sales environment selling complex solutions at a senior level.
  • An aptitude for learning new technologies and skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel and a full driving license.
