Business Development Manager - Home Based

Our client, a leading supplier of print services to publishers throughout the world requires a Business Development Manager to maximise the New Business sales across the full range of Company products including digital short run print, digital POD print, global POD distribution, journal print and e-book delivery services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales.
  • Plan and manage personal business territory according to an agreed market development strategy.
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions, and respond to and follow up sales enquiries from self generated and qualified leads.
  • Ensure performance/delivery on revenue commitment.
  • Use Company customer and prospect systems, and update relevant information held in these systems in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing.
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Liaise with Customer Services, Account Managers to resolve customer problem issues.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Continuously ensure all Company policies and procedures are adhered to; identify any variances and provide possible solutions.

Skills & Experiences:

  • Familiar with the publishing industry across journals publishing, e book and/or digital print on demand
  • Strong sales and business development background
  • Real self-starter who thrives on working in a fast moving dynamic company
