Business Development Manager, STM / Academic, Cambridge

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone who is looking for a new challenge in consultative business development within academic publishing. Our client is a leading B2B publication based in Cambridge in the academic and STM publishing market, providing the latest information and trends to those in this arena. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to develop new sources of revenue from existing clients and devise methods of building the client database with new leads.

Do you have ideas about generating new revenue streams that currently aren’t being heard? Or are you currently implementing new revenue streams and would like to take that to a new environment? Our client would love to hear from you. This is a real opportunity to have a voice and to make a tangible difference to the bottom line. Revenue could come from display advertising, email marketing, content licensing and lead generation but what other ideas do you have?

The successful candidate will be well versed with academic / STM / professional publishing and have numerous contacts within publishers, libraries, publishing services and research services. You will understand what is important in that market and have demonstrable success in sales and account management within it. We are looking for someone with initiative and ideas as well commercial awareness and strong client relationship management.
