Business Manager - Poland, Baltics, Russia & CIS

We are seeking to appoint a Business Manager for Poland, the Baltics, Russia and CIS. You will be responsible for a wide portfolio of existing accounts within Higher Education, Corporate and Public sectors, selling a range of electronic and printed learning resources.

You will be responsible for the retention and upselling of products to existing customers, and the development of new accounts. Although a revenue-focused role, you will also develop non-commercial opportunities and new product initiatives. The role is market based, and requires extensive and regular travel, including overnight stays.

The ideal candidate will have a background in selling into the “academic market” arena and have a clear focus on achieving new business growth.

You will take ownership for delivering results, possess the gravitas to influence key decision makers and have high personal drive and motivation to succeed.  As well as being a team player you should possess good organisational and IT skills. Experience of the academic market and working in a sales environment would be advantageous, as would the ability to demonstrate success and experience of managing accounts and winning new business.  The ability to run a number of large projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines for internal reporting will be crucial for this role.

Skills & Experience

  • Publishing Sales Experience
  • Ability to speak Russian to a near native or native standard
  • Other Eastern European languages will be a distinct advantage
  • 2-5 years academic sales with proven track record of success
  • Driving License
