Campus Sales Representative - London and South East England

 

Macmillan Education is one of the world’s leading publishers of English Language teaching and school curriculum materials, with over 150 years of publishing experience. Based in London, UK, and operating in over 40 countries worldwide.

 

The key objective of this role is to manage and maximise sales of Macmillan Education Higher Education products in the London and South East England territory.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To reach or exceed sales targets as given each year.
  • To organise, visit, sell to and manage Academics, University Accounts and bookshops in your territory.
  • Identify Academics’ needs and match products to those requirements, presenting ideas and winning adoptions.
  • To maintain and develop a good knowledge of our frontlist titles, backlist titles and digital products and be able to present them all confidently.
  • Communicate regularly with sales colleagues, marketing and editorial departments on individual title feedback and market requests and trends.
  • Source data and deliver regular territory performance and adoption reports to line manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • English and Maths to at least GSCE level or equivalent
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Current valid full UK driving license
  • University Degree or equivalent

 

Experience:

  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding targets.
  • Consistent development and application of list knowledge including demonstration of key selling points to clients
  • Proficient in explaining and demonstrating technical elements and key selling points of digital resources to key stakeholders
  • Effective at relationship building
  • Sales and sales negotiation skills, adaptable for all customer/market types
  • Numeracy (particularly percentage calculations)
  • Computer literate with comprehensive knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in using internal systems: (e.g. CRM systems, Sales Data systems)
  • Presentation skills - Preparation and delivery of oral, PowerPoint, and live digital presentations
  • Effective written and oral communication with all stakeholders
  • Able to manage own schedule and time, prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Proven administration and customer service skills
  • Sales experience, preferably field sales within the territory.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Higher Education market, digital products or Bookselling desirable but not essential.
