Commissioning Editor

A leading educational publisher based in central London is looking for a Commissioning Editor to commission curriculum product for the Caribbean market. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to join a global publisher.

 

Key duties:

  • Conduct in-depth market research, evaluating competition and working closely with overseas markets

  • Identify, commission and manage suitable authors and advisors

  • Make sound investment proposals in order to meet target and ensure financial performance of the list

  • Overview editorial, design, technical and production aspects of projects at all stages

  • Represent company at conferences and events, travelling as required

     

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven market-focussed curriculum experience within educational publishing is required

  • Knowledge of international schools market and segments would be an advantage

  • Proven track record of product development

  • Solid knowledge of publishing processes and the ability to deliver projects to tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain successful relationships

  • Must be able to travel internationally
