Commissioning Editor

Our client, a leading publisher for the Education market based in Oxford is looking to recruit a creative and forward-thinking Commissioning Editor to develop innovative market-appropriate resources for schools globally.

Key responsibilities include:

-Researching, commissioning and delivering products on time and to budget in line with publishing plans

-Managing the financial performance of a list and contributing to publishing strategy

-Responsible for a portfolio of products, managing proposals, authors and implementing effective publishing plans for the products

-Working and liaising with key stakeholders and customers in global regions

-Some travel to regional conferences and international schools

The successful candidate will be from an Educational publishing background with demonstrable experience of digital and print publishing processes.  Ideally, you will have an understanding of, and the ability to assess project financials and profitability as well as strategic planning and market analysis. You will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and have strong presentation skills.

You will be experienced in acquiring/commissioning materials in print and digital, ideally within the schools market.
