Commissioning Editor (full or p/time) - an established social enterprise, in Oxford, is looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Editor on a full- or part-time basis. The Commissioning Editor will be responsible for managing the company’s Revision Guide business and related digital content and the post involves commissioning content for print and online formats.
Responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning authors in liaison with the Academic Team
- Negotiating author contracts, terms & author management
- Keeping up-to-date with trends in the educational market
- Managing content creation and editing
You will be joining a friendly team based in a nice location, close to central Oxford, and will be able to demonstrate:
- Commissioning experience within an educational publishing environment
- Digital content knowledge and experience
- Understanding of pedagogy and education
You will have great project management and editing skills and an understanding of copyright and permissions. Experience of budget management will be an advantage.
This role will suit a publishing professional with excellent educational commissioning experience looking to join an enthusiastic team, successfully working in the growing revisions course market and developing online learning sector.
