Commissioning Editor, History

We are looking for a temporary Commissioning Editor to work in this key role where you will be responsible for the commissioning of new products in medieval and early modern history and the history of political thought whilst managing a prestigious list of existing titles and working to grow the Cambridge market share worldwide.

 

You will be responsible for acquiring titles to meet the ambitious targets to develop new scholarly, textbook and reference titles, supporting authors to ensure deliver of scripts on schedule and working closely with sales, marketing and production colleagues around the world.

 

This is to cover for a period of maternity leave and is offered on a temporary basis for a period of up to 14 months.

 

As part of a busy team you will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, initiative and enthusiasm together with an understanding of the commercial and scholarly demands of a leading university press.

 

The successful applicant will be degree qualified and have extensive relevant academic publishing experience.  The ability to demonstrate how your have previously managed and grown a product list through new commissions would be advantageous but is not essential.
