Senior Commissioning Editor, Professional, London

We are looking for a highly commercial commissioning editor, looking for their next step in professional / academic book publishing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to build a list into a business unit in its own right at a highly reputable business publisher. Our client is looking for a Senior Commissioning Editor to commission and publish a portfolio of titles in the area of Marketing.

You will be responsible for driving the growth of the Marketing publishing business unit through developing innovative publishing initiatives, growing the portfolio and keeping abreast of market trends. This is traditionally one of the most successful lists from our client and so you’ll be starting from a fantastic point with the challenge of making this even more successful. You will achieve this through excellent acquisition skills, building strong relationships with internal teams as well as executing a winning publishing plan that is cutting edge and commercially viable. Working across both print books and digital products, you will be creating a portfolio that is continually engaging to its readers.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable commissioning experience with outstanding author liaison skills and be able to understand and quickly act upon market developments. A background in professional, business or academic publishing would be ideal and books experience is a must.
