Commissioning Editor, Secondary English

Our client, a leading educational publishing based in Central London, is looking for an experienced Commissioning Editor to join their team. Working across both print and digital media, you will be responsible for developing a key list of your own.

 

Key duties:

  • Work collaboratively to manage the commissioning and development of the list
  • Develop quality, market-focused print, digital and mixed media products
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure material is produced on time and to budget
  • Undertake market research to identify new opportunities and maintain detailed market knowledge
  • Maintain and build relationships with authors, key partners and potential partners
  • Work with the Director to build realistic sales budgets

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Previous commissioning experience is essential for this role
  • Experience in developing commercially viable project ideas from market research
  • A knowledge of creating resources for UK schools / colleges
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Proven networking and author development experience
  • Able to demonstrate a customer-focused approach to your work
