Commissioning Editor
A leading educational publisher is looking for an experienced Commissioning Editor to join their STEM division (Higher Education). Based in lovely offices in Essex, easily commutable from Liverpool Street or North London, you will work with content, assessment and learning technology to create the next generation of digital products and learning services.
Key duties:
- Build demonstrable market expertise through customer engagement
- Define market strategy and product propositions
- Develop a comprehensive product publishing plan, commission priorities and take ownership of the overall product pipeline
- Achieve new product signing and development goals in line with the publishing plan
- Manage existing products and commission new editions of key textbook franchises
- Maximize business value from your products in order to ensure the strongest return on investment
Experience / skills required:
- Solid development editorial and ideally commissioning experience within STEM publishing
- Relevant experience of publishing or product innovation and management in an educational publishing / learning environment
- Excellent negotiation, networking and relationship management skills
- Understanding of digital publishing processes and a proven interest in developing digital resources
- A driven and commercial approach with business acumen and effective decision-making
- Strong organisation and project management skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt quickly
