Our client; a well-established STM society, is looking for an ambitious and creative Commissioning Editor to join their team. This role will be responsible for building strong relationships within the scientific community and developing, and implementing the publications web and social media strategies.

The key responsibilities of the Commissioning Editor include:

• Contributing to the development and implementation of the editorial strategy for each product and commissioning articles to aid development of given titles.
• Maintaining an editorial workflow and managing journals’ web presence against individual title strategies.
• Identifying opportunities for new products and services and supporting their implementation.
• Develop key relationships with industry respected authors through networking, personal contact and commissioning; as well as external contacts within relevant scientific communities.
• Ensure maximal engagement of product editorial and advisory boards to provide optimum benefit and exposure within their communities. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate education to PhD level or equivalent; strong knowledge of publishing policies and procedures; tact, diplomacy and well-developed networking skills; ability to work proactively as well as embracing change with positivity; and willingness to travel both nationally and internationally.
