Commissioning Editors (Primary & Secondary)

Our client, a leading educational publisher in central London is looking for two Commissioning Editors to join their primary and secondary educational departments. This is an excellent opportunity for two experienced commissioning editors to acquire new content and develop a range of high quality educational products. Both are permanent full-time roles.

 

Key duties:

  • Research and commission a range of new print and digital products
  • Develop and deliver multi-component projects on time, to schedule and to high quality
  • Work closely with sales and marketing departments on product launch strategies
  • Keep abreast of market developments and ensure that the products are fit for their purpose
  • Grow and maintain an effective pool of authors, experts and freelancers

Experience / skills required:

  • Strong commissioning and list management experience within educational schools publishing is essential
  • Good project management experience across a number of print and digital products
  • Knowledge of working with teams of freelancers and authors under strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly across departments and stakeholders
