Commissioning/ Senior Commissioning Editor

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Editor or a Senior Commissioning Editor to join a leading independent publisher. Our client, based in central London, is seeking a Commissioning Editor who will focus developing their textbooks and aim to increase their market share. Using your strong commercial acumen, you will develop and build the list of key adoptable textbooks within the Finance, Operations, HR, Marketing and Business subject areas.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of commissioning textbooks academic or textbook publishing. You will be collaborative and a team player whilst being able to work independently. We are looking for someone good business acumen and someone that will thrive in building your own successful publishing list.

We can imagine the candidate to be ambitious in your career and looking for a role with more autonomy and ownership. You will most likely have entrepreneurial tendencies and confidence in decision making as well as having a vision for developing, commissioning and publishing a commercially successful list.

This role is market focused and there will be an expectation that you visit university campuses and conferences so we will be looking for evidence of researching the market, excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
