Assistant to Literary Agents

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant to join C&W and support 3 of our Literary Agents - Lucy Luck, Emma Finn and Richard Pike.  This role will involve providing proactive and efficient creative and administrative support to the agents’ offices to help provide the best possible service to current and potential literary clients and publishing partners, and to contribute to the efficiency, growth and profitability of the company.

The role of an agent’s assistant centres around ensuring the smooth running of the agent’s office through effective organisation and exceptional client care. Client promotion, seeking new opportunities across the industry globally and safeguarding their interests is at the heart of what an agent does. The successful candidate will need to quickly gain a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of each of the client’s work and specific requirements, building loyalty to C&W.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, great attention to detail and experience within an administrative role. This role is the ideal opportunity for someone excited by the challenge of working for a busy office and the skill set to adapt, learn and assist efficiently. Some experience in an administrative role would be useful, and some experience working within the literature industry, e.g. in a literary agency or publishing house, would be beneficial although not essential as we will provide the relevant training and support.

The Book Trade Charity offers support to those seeking employment in the Book Trade, including help with interview costs for those who might need it. More information can be found at https://www.btbs.org/.
