Deputy Managing Editor

We have a new exciting vacancy with a prestigious medical publisher based in London. They have an impressive portfolio of medical and biological science journals, and are on the lookout for a Deputy Managing Editor to join their team.

This role will be responsible for supporting the Managing Editor with overseeing the publication process and leading a small team of direct reports, providing them with support and feedback to aid their career development.

The successful candidate would also be performing first and second edits of articles to ensure accuracy and consistency in quality and production, as well as making sure that everything is in line with house style.

For this role, it is important that candidates come from a life science/medical related background, as you will be expected to check factual content and raise any issues with plagiarism, ethics, consent and figure manipulation, and handle any issues as required with support from the Managing Editor.
