Designer – Picture Books

• Are you a fabulous picture book designer who is brimming with creativity but understands commercial requirements and stands out from the rest?

• Are you an expert at coming up with exciting, strong cover designs and fresh new approaches to layouts?

• Do you have the ability to work across several titles at once, balancing a busy workload?

• Can you spot and commission new illustration talent?

This role involves working closely with editorial, production and sales colleagues to develop and deliver impressive new titles to market. You will relish the chance to use your existing experience in picture books, to shape this fast-growing list, producing innovative ideas with outstanding international and UK commercial potential.

To be considered for this vacancy you must be self-motivated, demonstrate a genuine love for children's books, and show strong market awareness. You will have a passion for design, and finding new illustration talent, as well as being highly proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. You will be organised, deadline-driven, and good at building strong working relationships with illustrators, agents and other in-house departments alike. Confident communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
