Your Challenge
Are you an experienced editor with a great eye for detail and able to work autonomously?
Here at Jonathan Cape we’ve got the opportunity to join the team as a Desk Editor, to support our four commissioning editors across literary fiction and non-fiction, poetry and graphic novels.
As Desk Editor you’ll be responsible for managing the internal book process, after structural edit and under supervision, of specified books. You will be required to edit designated titles and to write editorial notes. The role also includes compiling the jacket and catalogue copy, collating proofs, writing ATI copy, liaising with authors, and with Production and Design. Please be aware that this role does not involve commissioning new titles.
Your Profile
To be considered for this role you must possess prior editorial experience at Assistant Editor level or above, combined with excellent organisation and time management skills. You must also have personal initiative and the ability to work autonomously. The successful individual will have the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels and will also enjoy handling competing priorities.
