Digital Editor (Visual Arts)

We are working with an exceptional publisher of digital collections who are looking to bring an Editor into their team to work on a portfolio of Visual Arts disciplines.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on an expanding digital collection of resources tailored to the needs of students and academics in various visual arts fields, including Art History, Design and Fashion.

About you:

Ideally, we seek a candidate with following skills and knowledge:

  • A creative drive to develop new engaging products as part of a growing portfolio of digital platform
  • Commercially savvy, with a grasp of the evolving trends and complexities within the digital academic publishing sphere
  • Strong editorial skills, with ideally some experience of commissioning content
  • Ability to work well with authors and other partners, including the ability to provide excellent author care and drafting contracts for both authors and licensing partners
  • Strong organisational abilities, including managing time efficiently, and remaining calm under pressure
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Previous experience in digital publishing or a background in visual arts disciplines is a plus. although not an essential requirement

Overview of the role:

The Digital Editor will oversee the development of live and upcoming products in the Visual Arts and Video portfolio. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content quality and timely delivery, identifying growth opportunities and licensing partners, and commissioning new products aligned with the wider team's strategic goals.

Reporting to the Digital Portfolio Director, you will be tasked with leading product development, scouting for content licensing partners, conducting market research, managing content updates and launches, handling administrative tasks, maintaining live products on digital platforms, managing external relationships, commissioning digital-first content, budget management, and serving as an ambassador for the division.

This role will be based in the London office with 2 set days a week in office and the remaining time working from home. It will suit candidates with a great commercial focus and the ability to pursue new opportunities and expand an already well-established digital list.
