Managing Editor - DK Knowledge

The DK Knowledge division is seeking a well-organised, experienced, and creative individual to work primarily on our education and language learning areas, for children and adults. 

Ideally with experience of and enthusiasm for active learning, you will need to have excellent project-and people-management skills, a strong commercial sense, and plenty of initiative. Liaising closely with authors, illustrators, design, production, and sales colleagues, you will have a strong eye for the visual and an instinctive feel for what works for integrated illustrated books.  

With effective communication and organisational skills, key responsibilities will include: generating and presenting workable ideas; ensuring projects are managed efficiently and to schedule; managing author and imprimatur relationships; overseeing a team of editors, freelancers, and packagers, as well as staff in DK Delhi, in the conception and development of the list; and managing the creation of content for both digital and print use. You will also have responsibility for financial appraisals and budgetary management of your list.

The successful candidate will be fully Mac literate. Editorial rigour is essential, along with commissioning experience and strong negotiation skills.
