Editor

Quantum Books, part of the Quarto International Co-editions Group, is looking for an Editor for its forward programme of illustrated cookery, health, MBS, craft and reference books. Quantum is a growing imprint – and we are looking for a talented and driven editor to help us drive forward a new frontlist portfolio with the highest design and editorial standards.

You will see books through the complete production process from initial concept through to final print-ready files; commissioning and managing freelance project teams and liaising closely with customers over editorial approval stages and schedules. You will be accountable for delivering all your titles on time, on budget, and to the highest editorial and design standards. You will also generate and develop new book ideas and contribute to team discussions – this is a collaborative and varied role within a small and friendly team.

You will have:
Proven expertise with co-edition editorial work
At least 2 years’ experience in illustrated publishing and a proven track record of working under your own steam
Experience managing projects with demanding and concurrent schedules
A keen design eye and be able to communicate your vision effectively to external designers
A good knowledge of InDesign is essential
