Editor – 6 Month FTC, Professional Publisher, London

An exciting opportunity has come up at the West London offices of one of our leading professional publishing clients on a 6 month contract. The successful applicant will manage and provide a quality editorial service for the delivery of content across a range of products and outputs. They will monitor amendments required for international adoptions and advise authors, panels and committees on editing, drafting rules and house style. It will also be their responsibility to support other editorial team members but providing editing and proof-reading services.

The Editor will liaise with the Product Management team for testing purposes and perform content checking with digital products. Additionally, they will liaise with copy editors, proof-readers and designers and build and maintain business relationships with internal contacts and external customers.

The ideal applicant will have demonstrable experience of content preparation for multi-channel publications and of editorial work on technical publications. They will have worked on the application of editing and drafting rules, author guidelines and house style and on ensuring the maintenance of digital content delivery systems. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential and they will be strong decision makers and have a problem-solving approach to their workload. Attention to detail is a key aspect of this role and the successful candidate will have an awareness and familiarity with word processing and typesetting software.
