Editor, Assessment Materials

What it’s about 
Reporting to a Senior Assessment Advisor in Assessment, and supervising a team of three Proof Readers in the Assessment Standards and Quality team, you will provide a high quality proofreading service for live assessment materials. You will provide support and advice to internal staff and external consultants on the conventions of clear and well-structured language and good writing, ensuring that these conventions are put into practice in the production of assessment materials. You will contribute to the production and review of instructions, guidance and training materials, including assisting in the development and delivery of training events. 

What we’re looking for 
You will have a high standard of spoken and written English, combined with accuracy, attention to detail and excellent planning and organisational skills. You’ll be a graduate with a relevant journalism or editorial qualification, and experience of working as an editor. Your strong written skills will include the ability to develop and create new written documentation, guidance and procedures. You will be a clear and confident communicator, comfortable presenting to groups both formally and informally. You will have strong interpersonal and people management skills, be flexible and adaptable, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience of managing the delivery of a process would be an advantage.
