Editor – Children’s Fiction
Quercus Children’s Books, part of Hachette UK, is a small, dynamic imprint with an excellent reputation for publishing distinctive fiction for readers of all ages.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented fiction editor to join the team and play an important role in the development and smooth running of the department as it migrates to the exciting new Hachette headquarters at Carmelite Riverside.
You will have previous relevant experience in children’s publishing alongside excellent editorial skills in structural editing, copy-editing, proofreading and project managing of books, including writing AIs and maintaining databases. Experience in illustrated titles and liaising with designers would be beneficial.
You must be highly creative, have a strong eye for detail and be passionate about children’s books. The chance to commission new authors and illustrators may also arise, so this is an excellent opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience in a small, supportive department.
