Editor/Commissioning Editor

Avon are looking for an experienced Editor to work closely with, and support, the Editorial Director in developing the Avon list working across a broad range of commercial genres including women’s fiction, saga, crime, thrillers and historical.

The Avon division at HarperCollins is the home of commercial fiction. The imprint was established in 2007 to sell mass market fiction to non-traditional book buyers.  It has recently launched Maze Books, its new digital first imprint.

Now a regular face on the Sunday Times and Kindle bestseller lists, Avon is proud to have authors such as Claudia Carroll, Trisha Ashley, Kitty Neale, Scott Mariani, CL Taylor, Paul Finch and Fiona Gibson gracing their list and is always on the lookout for fresh talent.

The Editor will manage a list of existing authors, lead key Avon initiatives, look to commission new titles and be the key contact for authors from acquisition through to publication. 

The ideal candidate should also possess strong commercial awareness, experience of acquisition, excellent author care skills and a proven understanding of and flair for key sales drivers and digital publishing.
