Editor - Michael Joseph

Michael Joseph are currently seeking an Editor to join their Women’s Fiction team to work with a list of stellar authors such as Marian Keyes, Catherine Alliott, Lesley Pearse, Jojo Moyes, Jane Fallon and Liane Moriarty.

In your role as Editor, you will be supporting the Publishing Director in the editing and project-management of titles throughout the editorial process, as well as keeping your ear to the ground in terms of identifying the next potential bestseller in the women’s commercial fiction market.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling titles for publication
  • Close editorial work such as structural editing and related development work of manuscripts
  • Author and agent care throughout the process
  • Writing AIs and updating them as necessary
  • Writing engaging copy for blurbs and other associated materials

This is a great role for someone looking for their next step in their career in commercial fiction. In this position, you will have the opportunity to edit titles from some of the best writers in the women’s fiction genre as well the chance to acquire some new titles too.

This role will suit someone with strong editorial experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced commercial trade publishing environment. You will have good copy-editorial and structural editing experience as well as the ability to write sharp and engaging copy for the women’s fiction market.

You will be calm under pressure, be an excellent relationship-builder and have a genuine passion and knowledge of the commercial women’s fiction market.
